Heat for domestic water and living spaces
The solar energy can be used for hot water preparation and room heating. In our latitudes, even a small solar system can cover the average annual hot water requirement of a household by up to 65% – in the south as in the north of the country. As a rule, a solar system is designed in such a way that it covers 100% of the demand in summer and preheats the water in the transitional periods such as spring and autumn. In summer you can switch off the conventional boiler completely.
A connection of your washing machine and dishwasher to the hot water circuit is particularly interesting for your wallet. You not only save the environment from CO² pollution, but also reduce the consumption of expensive electrical energy. If the solar system is to be used for room heating, a larger collector area is required. On an annual average, solar heat can provide up to 35% of the total heating energy – in well-insulated houses even up to 80%.
Conclusion
If you own the roof, under which you live, use the energy that shines on it. Nobody can bill you for this energy.
