20 billion – to this number, the networked devices in private households and the economy will increase until 2020. This development will change the communication and interaction in all living and working areas fundamentally, from highly automated driving, about new ways of entertainment through to Smart City and the factory of tomorrow. The networking should ensure more quality of life, sustainability and security. To achieve this, not only devices must be connected, but (almost) everything: people, things, systems, processes and organizations.
