Arlon Electronic Materials

Arlon Electronic Materials Division (EMD) is located in Rancho Cucamonga, California and is a major manufacturer of specialty high performance laminate and prepreg materials for use in a wide variety of PCB (printed circuit board) applications.

Arlon EMD originated in founder Art Howe’s garage in Brentwood, CA, later relocating to a real factory in North Hollywood, and then to Van Nuys. The Howe Industries “HI” logo survives in some of our current factory’s signage. Mr. Howe was a pioneer in the laminates business, having worked as Operations Manager for GE’s large laminate facility in Coshocton, Ohio. Howe Industries was an innovator in the area of high temperature polymers, being one of the first to manufacture and sell significant quantities of polyimide material. Howe Industries was acquired by Bairnco Corporation (successor to Keene Corporation) in 1984 and renamed to Arlon Materials for Electronics and moved to its current location in Rancho Cucamonga, CA in late 1985. In 2015 our name was changed again to Arlon Electronic Materials.

Arlon Electronic Materials specializes in thermoset resin technology including polyimide, high Tg multifunctional epoxy, and low loss thermoset laminate and prepreg systems. These resin systems are available on a variety of substrates including woven glass and non-woven aramid. Typical applications for these materials include advanced commercial and military electronics such as avionics, semiconductor testing, heat sink bonding, High Density Interconnect (HDI) and microvia PCB’s (i.e. in mobile communication products).

Our facility employs state of the art production equipment engineered to provide cost-effective and flexible manufacturing capacity allowing us to respond quickly to customer requirements while meeting the most stringent quality and tolerance demands. Our manufacturing site is ISO 9001: 2008 registered, and through rigorous quality control practices and commitment to continual improvement, we are dedicated to meeting and exceeding our customer’s requirements.
