Leichtmetallbau AG was founded in 1966 in Schlieren. The purpose of the company was the production and sale of welded aluminum structures.
The individual parts were assembled on the construction site, hence the name Leichtmetallbau AG.
Already in 1972, the company relocated the business premises of Schlieren to Wädenswil and moved into
larger production areas. Over time, business activities have been expanded to include the manufacture and assembly of all metalwork and staffing levels have increased accordingly.
A milestone was certainly the move from Wädenswil to Rapperswil – Jona, which was completed in April 2011. The production area has grown to over 1000 m2 and the hall height is approx. 8 meters. Equipped with a 5 ton overhead crane, we are now able to produce very large metal components. Due to the larger production area, the number of employees has been increased to 17 today, including 8 apprentices
In September 2015, we successfully completed certification of the EN 1090 structural standard.
In this way, we meet the legal requirements for the manufacture and assembly of all structural components in the EXC 2.
