Founded in 1974 by Esther and Domenic Steiner, Thermoplan AG initially dedicated itself to the development and production of automatic creamers and milk frothers for the food service industry. In the mid-1990s, the decisive breakthrough came with the development of the Black & White coffee machine. The result is an innovative, well thought-out fully automatic machine, which is unique due to its modular construction. This principle ensures maximum serviceability and combines simple operation with the highest product quality. The advantages of this construction method as well as the high reliability are known far beyond the borders of Switzerland.
In 2007, Thermoplan was the first to develop a revolutionary milk system that, in addition to hot milk foam for cappuccino and latte macchiato, also prepares cold milk foam at the touch of a button – another innovative world premiere. This innovative system is still a leader and can be found in all Thermoplan-derived coffee machines, which are marketed under the product brand Black & White.
Thermoplan is a pronounced “Swiss-Made-Betrieb”, which is rooted in Central Switzerland. In over 72 countries, which corresponds to an export share of more than 97%, one counts on the quality products of Thermoplan AG. Around 300 employees work at the headquarters in Weggis (CH) and in the subsidiaries in Germany, Austria and the USA.
