vario-optics is leading manufacturer of electro-optical circuit boards (EOCB’s) based on integrated optical waveguides. They provide significantly higher bandwidth and higher energy efficiency compared to purely electrical high-speed PCBs. The photolithographic manufacturing provides great advantage over similar fiber-based systems (reproduceability, high integration densities, lower costs). EOCB′s are therefore perfectly suited for applications within telecom-, datacom- and supercomputing- applications supporting very high bandwidth densities.

During the last years vario-optics ag extended its capabilities also towards singlemode waveguides. These can be used for example for cost effective sensors based on interference measurements or highly integrated photonic packages.
