About us
Founded in 1962 by Willi Schmid in Wettingen / AG.

Since 1969, the company has been converted into a public limited company and registered as W. Schmid AG in the commercial register.

From the beginning, W. Schmid AG worked for ABB in Baden. Our more than 40 years of experience in this sector is still appreciated today.

In May 2011, a change of generation took place in the management. Mr. Willi Schmid transferred the management of the company to his son Markus Schmid. He has worked in the company W. Schmid AG for 10 years and has intensively prepared himself to assume responsibility for the entire company within the framework of extensive training and further education measures.

Our main occupations are

1.) the production of electronic devices and apparatus for various customers, including ABB Switzerland AG, Alstom Switzerland AG, Enics Switzerland AG or R & D Carbon AG Sierre, to name only the most important

2.) our signal lights, which we have developed and improved over the years.

3.) Contract manufacturing for partner companies

4.) Development of equipment, service and after-sales support for various partners

Our domicile is located in the canton of Aargau – conveniently located in Fislisbach. You can reach us in a few minutes from the A1 motorway, exit Baden / West. Zurich Airport can be reached in half an hour, to Basel you need just under 55 minutes. The nearest train station can be reached in 5 minutes.
