History and Today

“Ferplast: a story built on commitment, ideas, innovative design and evolution. It began with a bird cage and has reached the new pet generation. The story of a company in perfect harmony with the needs of their customers, namely pets.”

Ferplast, whose headquarters are in Castelgomberto (province of Vicenza – Italy), was founded in 1966 by Carlo Vaccari, the actual President of the board of directors after having appointed his son Nicola as General Manager of the company.
For 40 years, Ferplast has been involved in researching and creating innovative, safe products of advanced quality and design to guarantee the care and well-being of pets. The company dedicates considerable investments to research and the study of cutting edge technology.

Originally established as a typical commercial enterprise of the North East of Italy, today Ferplast produces over 2000 types of products, numbers about 1,000 employees, distributes in no less than 80 countries in five continents, and has trading branches in Italy, France, Germany, the UK, Scandinavia, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Russia, Benelux and Brazil and has 3 production sites, in Italy, Ukraine and the Slovak Republic.

Not only dogs and cats but also rodents, birds, fishes, amphibians and reptiles: the Ferplast range offers the most advanced solutions available for the wellbeing of each family of animals and to make the experience of sharing your home with an animal all the more enjoyable.

Research and Development

How are such levels of growth and development achieved? With passion and faith, by always being one step ahead of the times and investing in Research & Development. Indeed, 7% of Ferplast annual turnover is reinvested in improving its products, creating new ideas and solutions for animal well-being and technologies that are more innovative than the others on the market, often ahead of future trends and fashions.

Not only trends but also every aspect of the production cycle is carefully monitored in order to keep quality standards the highest in the sector. In addition, Ferplast directly produces approximately 90% of the articles that make up its supply, allowing tight control over the entire production cycle, from raw material to finished product, through the choice of suppliers, design, engineering, industrialization, testing, packaging, transport, storage until it reaches the final consumer, the pet.

LOCATIONS

Ferplast headquarters are located in Castelgomberto, near Vicenza, in the North of Italy. The surface area of more than 80.000 squared meters accommodates not only the executive offices but also the production department for iron, plastic and glass, and, of course, the extensive automated warehouse as well. Other 2 plants have recently been opened in Ukraine and Slovakia. Ferplast logistical structure comprises 11 trading branches in Europe and one branch in Brazil and China.
