Demcon develops optomechatronic systems for the semiconductor industry, space travel and other high-tech markets. Demcon possesses unique knowledge in the field of optical systems and precision inspection. Bundling of this knowledge with the expertise in mechatronics and vision enables the design, realisation and integration of high-grade optomechatronic systems.

The combination of the practical application of optical principles and our thorough knowledge of optoelectronics, signal analysis and optomechanics results in perfectly-working optomechatronic modules and systems. Examples from the semiconductor industry include alignment and level sensors, lenses/optics for laser-based manufacturing and complete lithography systems. For space travel, the applications include optical communication and instrumentation.

Demcon has built up extensive experience with laser-based systems for measuring instruments and processing machinery. The often complex ‘beam delivery’ demands precise positioning, down to nanometre levels. The use of dedicated lasers, advanced 2D and 3D measurement techniques (such as OCT, Optical Coherence Tomography) and adaptive optics determines the final result. In this, Demcon knows how to realise the optimum signal-to-noise ratio or the maximum processing result. Besides the hardware, Demcon has full command of the software, from advanced vision algorithms to highly dynamic control systems.
