The Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited, NAMI, established in 2006, was designated by the Innovation and Technology Commission as a Research and Development Centre for nanotechnology and advanced materials. NAMI undertakes and provides support for market-oriented research in nanotechnology and advanced materials, and strives for commercialization of the technologies to promote the economic growth of Hong Kong as a knowledge-based economy. NAMI’s R&D activities focus on five market sectors, namely:

– Electronics
– Construction
– Environmental
– Healthcare

NAMI operates as an open R&D platform and serves as the technology marketplace to develop products and processes related to nanotechnology and advanced materials.

NAMI provides financial support to projects in our focus areas that benefit Hong Kong’s economic, social and technological advancement. NAMI actively looks for collaborative opportunities to pursue projects that will deliver high value-added products and bring potential benefits to the economy of Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region.
