Gelenkwellenwerk Stadtilm GmbH – GEWES – is a medium-sized family business.
Since 1947 we manufacture and develop cardan shafts in Thuringian Stadtilm, near Erfurt. We are one of the most traditional and leading cardan shaft manufacturers in Europe. Our cardan shafts are used worldwide, especially in rail, marine, steel and paper applications as well as in the automotive and agricultural sectors.
In addition, we are also a long-standing and experienced manufacturer of double universal joints and specialist for drive shafts and precision turned parts.
