60 YEARS OF COMPETENCE IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING – CONSTRUCTIVELY CREATIVE
THE BRAUNSCHWEIG ENGINEERING OFFICE FOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING EXISTS SINCE 1952
1952 dared Dr.-Ing. Robert Träger took the step from employee to self-employment and founded an office for structural design, in which predominantly constructions of reinforced concrete and solid construction were calculated. Tools for the calculations were at the time slide rules and an additor, later moment charts were purchased. To calculate a four-legged reinforced concrete frame of a bell tower after Kani with a slide rule and add-on five days needed – an impressive example of the workload in the early 50s!
From 1966 Dipl.-Ing. Hans-Dieter Nolte Dr. Carrier as a partner. In 1977, Dr. Bearer for reasons of age – Mr. Nolte led the office on alone. In 1992 Dipl.-Ing. Hans-Georg Westphal as partner in the office management, from 1996 as the sole owner. In 1994 Dipl.-Ing. Holger Schliesenski in the office and in 2010 will be co-managing director of the newly founded W + S WESTPHAL Ingenieurbüro für Bautechnik GmbH. Thus, in good tradition, the course was set early for the future of the office to continue: the designated successor joins the office management – long before the previous owner counts to the “old iron”.
EXPERIENCE THAT HAS BEEN GROWING FOR OVER 60 YEARS
Under the motto “Structural design constructive – creative” , the client also focuses on the office philosophy with his project in the new company. Sustainable economic structural solutions with comprehensive cost and adherence to deadlines are not least the result of many years of experience over four generations.
Building and planning is becoming increasingly complex, the projects larger and more demanding, liability issues increasingly opaque and extensive. However, the new name already sets the course for the future.
The basis for sustainable planning services are good employees, because every office is only as good as its employees. For this reason, the owners attach great importance to a broad technical foundation of the civil engineers and, according to the personal inclinations and interests of the employees, promote specialization in special fields.
