About us
Our company was founded in 1991 under the name “Königsbrücker Edelstahl- und Küchentechnik GmbH” as a supplier to Thielmann AG and HAKA Metallwarenfabrik Hans Kappes, Weinbach. With 20 employees, the foundation stone of today’s success was laid in Königsbrück.
In 1994, KEK began to develop its own product ranges and to market them independently. Furniture was manufactured for building material laboratories and cleanrooms. Crucial for this was the realization that the young company is only viable if the supplier becomes an independent company. The evaluation of the market situation showed that especially the material stainless steel in capital goods became increasingly important.
With the relocation of our company in 1996 to the new premises in Laußnitz, we separated from the founders name and called us from now KEK GmbH. The main reason for this was that the production assortment had developed further beyond the original gastronomy technology.
Since then, the production areas have been extended several times to a current area of 6,000 m².
Beginning in the year 2000, the gradual takeover of the shares by TEKA B.V. in Amsterdam. In 2006, TEKA also took over the remaining shares of Thielmann AG. Since 2006 the TEKA-Group is the sole shareholder.
Today, KEK GmbH is a high-performance medium-sized company and operates in the German and international markets. For this, a close cooperation with our customers from the idea to the technical implementation is a decisive prerequisite.
124 employees are currently employed in the company.
As a subsidiary of the globally active TEKA Group with its current headquarters in Zug, Switzerland, we take advantage of the Group’s diverse possibilities.
The success of our company KEK is based on the fascination for stainless steel. We work passionately. Our products are timeless. KEK is reliable.
