About us
biosaxony is the all-Saxon biotechnology / medical technology association. Its members represent the various companies, scientific institutions and industry stakeholders with the adjacent areas of engineering and materials science in Saxony.
The network bundles forces, absorbs the needs of its members and represents their interests in public. Tasks of the cluster are u.a. the initiation of projects between industry and science, the provision of services and know-how, as well as the presentation of regional competences to support the value-adding development of these cross-sectional technologies. The development of new ideas, the development of sustainable technology transfer, e.g. within the scope of the partnering conference bionection, are further focal points of the cluster work. Two branches in Leipzig and Dresden strengthen the work locally.
In 2016, biosaxony launched the Medical Technology Section. The combination of biotechnology and medical technology should lead to the identification of new fields of innovation, which connect different actors in an interdisciplinary manner and thus sustainably improve and advance the regional economic structure of both subsectors.
In 2016, biosaxony hosted the BioRegion of the German Biotechnology Days in Leipzig.
biosaxony is a member of the go-cluster program.
Currently the biosaxony team consists of six employees. There is also a seven-member board.
Our members and numerous other partners from business, science and politics support the work of biosaxony and actively participate. In this way we succeed in continuously promoting a fruitful exchange of information and the use of joint synergies to the benefit of the life sciences players in the Free State.
