Founded in 1913, the company can look back on a more than 100-year history of forward-looking and market-influencing innovations in mechanical engineering. The core competencies of W + D are the processing and handling of thin and inhomogeneous materials, such as Paper, tissue and non-woven, at high speeds and with low tolerances. With its innovative and tailor-made system solutions and services, W + D focuses on the entire internal value creation chain of its customers.
Today, W + D operates in the Mail Solutions, Hygiene Solutions and Quality Services divisions. In Mail Solutions, W + D develops and sells system solutions for the production, printing, enveloping and packaging of envelopes and mailers. The Hygiene Solutions division stands for system solutions for the manufacture and packaging of tissue folding and hygiene products. Quality Services offers our customers high quality maintenance and support as well as spare parts and accessories for W + D products.
The company’s locations are in Germany, the Netherlands, USA and Malaysia. W + D also has a global sales and service network. At the beginning of 2017, W + D North America assumes operational responsibility for F.L. Smithe Company located in Duncansville / USA. In March 2017, W + D acquires offset and digital press manufacturer Halm Industries.
