EWK Umwelttechnik GmbH – a company with tradition
EWK is a medium-sized company with more than 135 years of tradition. The company was founded in 1868 by Albert Munziger and later by the new owner, Gottfried Zschocke, unnamed in ZSCHOCKE-Werke. The long-established company ZSCHOCKE was well known far beyond Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate and Germany at that time, especially through wooden cooling towers for water recooling and combined gas cleaning systems.
Kaiserslautern is also known for football by the 1.FCK, with the now expanded World Cup stadium 2006.
Kaiserslautern is located about 100 km southwest of Frankfurt, within a radius of 65 km to the cities of Mainz, Ludwigshafen and Saarbrücken, with ideal connections to airports, highways and express trains.
The headquarters of EWK Umwelttechnik GmbH is Kaiserslautern, a city with 100,000 inhabitants, characterized by companies such as Opel, Pfaff, Pfeiffer, AWK (today ACO), University and University of Applied Sciences.
