LASE was founded in 1990 by today’s Managing Director Dipl. Ing. Achim Klingberg in Hünxe. He pioneered the development and use of laser metrology in the heavy industrial environment. One of the first successful business transactions was the delivery of laser distance meters to the company Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann in Duisburg to record the level of the ladle in the steelworks. Here it was necessary to use lasers that could measure even on hot surfaces. These lasers were also to protect against the extreme ambient heat.

Over the years, the product range has been increasingly expanded. From 2001, 2D laser scanners were added and in 2005 even the first 3D laser scanner was developed by LASE. To process the complex data from 2D and 3D applications using specially developed software, was already in 2001 by Dipl.-Ing. Lars Ambrosy in parallel – LASE Systemtechnik GmbH – founded in Bremen.

In 2004, the stores were merged under the umbrella of LASE Industrielle Lasertechnik GmbH in Wesel and the second location in Bremen was retained as a further branch.

Since 2007, internationalization has also been increasingly promoted, with a sales office in Shanghai (China) in 2008 and a joint venture company in India in 2010, Feal Pvt. Ltd. in Calcutta. In addition, many new distributors have been won worldwide. In addition to internationalization, new business areas have increasingly been developed since 2002. While at the beginning the focus was solely on the steel industry, today the Port and Mining business segments are significantly involved in the turnover.

In order to serve our customers who are not only active in the industrial sector, the company LASE PeCo Systemtechnik GmbH was founded in 2008; This company deals with security applications (building and field monitoring) and people counting.

Today, LASE stands as a solid company – which is well established in the market! Since then, all leading machine manufacturers and automation companies have placed their trust in our products, services and expertise.
