About us
Rhein-Getriebe GmbH in Meerbusch (North Rhine-Westphalia) has been supplying customers worldwide with drive technology and special gearbox combinations for a wide range of applications for 70 years. In addition to medical technology, this also includes drives from the fields of materials handling, safety technology, textile technology, general mechanical and plant engineering as well as EX-protected drives. The family-owned company produces around 25,000 gearboxes per year with 60 employees.
Rhein-Getriebe cooperates with European and Asian suppliers of castings and electric motors. However, the gear elements are manufactured in-house by a technically specialized process. All drives are assembled in Germany and tested on customer’s request to 100% on our own test stands.
The own development department accompanies the customer from the first draft to the series run.

Rhein-Getriebe GmbH faces the challenge of “Industry 4.0”. Topics such as energy efficiency, sustainability and sensor technology are being driven forward. One cultivates cooperations with different universities in Aachen, Duesseldorf, Dortmund and Bochum. In a research project of the RWTH Aachen on the topic “companies and employees shape the digital transformation (KMU – 4.0), Rhein-Getriebe was selected as an industrial partner.
