Wemhöner is a family business from East Westphalia. Machinery and plant engineering is all our passion. We are closely connected with the wood-based materials and furniture industry. Wemhöner produces machines and plants for the refinement of wood-based materials. Today we are an innovative technology leader in our industry. We supply our customers worldwide – with an export quota of over 85%. Our customers challenge us – they are the best in their market segment.
We consistently focus on a common design of innovation processes. At the Wemhöner Research and Development Center, our engineers work in close collaboration with our customers, leading universities and first-class suppliers to push the boundaries of what is technically feasible. Wemhöner was founded in 1925 as a craft business in Herford. The company is now in the third generation in family hands. The values ​​of our founding generation continue to apply today and in the future:

Our plants refine wood-based materials all over the world – reliably and economically, day after day. Our innovative plants are produced at two modern production sites. In Germany at our headquarters in Herford, 310 employees on a production area of ​​16,500 m² develop and produce our entire product portfolio.

In 2007, our Chinese production facility in Changzhou, near Shanghai, began operations. Today, 180 employees produce membrane presses, short-cycle presses and PV VarioLam systems, mainly for the Asian market, on 10,000 m² of production area, especially Wemhöner. The Changzhou production site is the consistent evolution of our success in Southeast Asia and a milestone in the continued progress of our international focus. Wherever Wemhöner works for its international customers, we are partners for our local customers. In dialogue with them we develop innovative, tailor-made solutions for their individual requirements.
