Fair and square. On fair terms Thun produces family-run since 1919 at the German site. For a long time now, Thun has been all about the “square”, the tried and tested square that characterizes the bicycle pedal bearing core product.

The square bottomed bearing produces Thun for mountain bikes, city / trekking bicycles and children’s bikes. With 40 employees, the company supplies up to 50,000 bottom brackets per day from the German location in Ennepetal to the worldwide bicycle industry. Thun is the market leader in Europe in the relevant price segments.

Thun inspires its customers by quality and longevity of the products. In addition, Thun offers perfect logistics and optimum assembly processes at the assembling OEM. All operational processes are steered with statistical process control (SINIC ®) and powerful test methods such as 3D coordinate measuring technology. Important tools from the 6-Sigma modular system are constantly in use: FMEA, KAIZEN, KVP, etc. Industry 4.0 is lived through the RFID networking of products with resources and processes. This sophisticated quality and process management, which is constantly being improved, is ISO 9001: 2008 and certified by TÜV Nord (voluntary production monitoring). Another strength is the excellent delivery capability, which allows Thun to meet bottlenecks with the mounting OEM even within a few hours.
