SSAB is a Nordic-based and US-based steel company with global reach and cost-effective and flexible production systems. SSAB is a leading manufacturer of advanced high and ultra high strength steel (AHSS), tempered steel (Q & T, Quenched & Tempered), standard strip products, heavy plate and tube products, as well as solutions for the construction industry.
The company has an annual production capacity of 8.8 million tons of steel. SSAB has production facilities in Sweden, Finland and the USA. In addition, there are capacities for processing and manufacturing various steel products in China and a number of other countries. In Sweden and Finland, production is integrated in a blast furnace process. In the US, production takes place in electric arc furnaces based on steel scrap.
SSAB employs approximately 17,300 people in 50 countries.
