Taros – Discovering the world of chemistry
Taros is an independent and owner-managed contract research company based in Dortmund Technology Park. Since 1999, we have been working for clients in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, crop protection and various areas of chemistry. Over the years, we have served an ever-expanding range of customers with the most diverse requirements. Today, we also develop and produce fine and specialty chemicals (such as flavors, polymers, additives, dyes, pigments, etc.) for the food, cosmetics, dye, printing, coating, construction and automotive industries. In total, more than 8,000 successfully completed synthesis, medical and process chemistry projects were delivered to the ever-growing customer base.

We have the most up-to-date laboratory equipment and a team of highly motivated employees (more than 65% have a doctorate in chemistry) dedicated to the success and diverse needs of customers in the field of synthesis and medicinal chemistry in terms of efficient drug and material research. Taros’s scientists combine more than 140 years of experience in Industrial Organic Chemistry with over 60 years of experience in the active medicinal chemistry of large pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

In addition to researching a scalable synthetic route and process development / scale-up for the desired compounds, we can also carry out the first pilot productions. For this purpose, we transfer the process developed in Dortmund to the production capacities of our subsidiary in Asia. Our chemical pilot plants can be adapted for the different application steps. Of course, this takes into account safety, ecology and health aspects.
