PAION AG is a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Aachen and has a further location in Cambridge (United Kingdom).

PAION specializes in the development and commercialization of innovative medicines with a significant unmet medical need for the hospital sector. After successful proof of efficacy in humans, drug candidates are to be outlicensed to pharma partners or further developed together with them. On the basis of this business model, revenues are realized at an early stage and at the same time the costs and the risk of further development are reduced. At subsequent value creation, the company continues to participate in success payments for achieving clinical and commercial milestones and royalties after drug approval. Further revenues can be generated later and additionally from co-marketing activities.
