Kai Hofmann, born on November 25, 1967 in Düsseldorf, 2 daughters.
I grew up with two brothers in the south of Düsseldorf and finished my training as an electrical system installer in 1986 and as a power system electronics technician at Daimler Benz in Düsseldorf in 1988.
After completing my training and completing my military service as a telecommunications operator, I initially stayed at Daimler Benz and programmed, among other things, robots for automobile production.
I quickly realized that my path did not end here. From 1991 to 1993 I expanded my training to become a state-certified electrical engineer and trainer. Another milestone came in 1994, when I passed my master craftsman’s examination and worked as an electrical master craftsman for a year. Then in 1995 I decided to take the plunge into self-employment. It was important to me to go my own way and always be a little more special, different and, above all, better. My claim is the highest quality and reliability.
From the beginning I was also involved in the electrical guild. I was on the journeyman’s examination committee for a long time, gave motivational lectures on the electrical trade at schools and became deputy guild chief in 2014. In autumn 2018 I was elected as the new head master of the electrical guild, a position that I dedicate myself to with a lot of responsibility. It is very important to me to get young people enthusiastic about craft professions again and to support young apprentices in their careers.
The old industrial hall in which my company is based combines modernity with tradition. It was important to my team and me to make the industry visible and tangible. The show room covers topics such as smart home, video surveillance, energy efficiency and modern technology. A large training / seminar room also offers space for training courses and workshops for external partners.
At Elektro Kai Hofmann, the subject of training is also very important. Between 4 and 6 trainees are regularly employed in my company, career starters and refugees are also offered prospects. This is rounded off by my experienced and long-standing great electric Champions League team.
We always strive to offer the perfect service in our services and to offer and implement innovative solutions of tomorrow for our customers. To underline this, Elektro Kai Hofmann came up with the term “feel-good electrician” in 2011. Under this second brand, as Kai Hofmann, I am also known far beyond the borders of Düsseldorf – also in sporting competitions.
I find a balance in my enthusiasm for sport – which my employees sometimes shake their heads about in amazement. Regular running, since 1989 participation in the marathon is just as much a part of it for me as numerous triathlons and obstacle runs like Xletix / Strongmanrun. For over 10 years I have been traveling all over the world as a marathon trainer. Whether it be football games, martial arts in Japan, beach volleyball or skydiving, there are only a few sports that I have not tried yet. My last highlight was the successful participation in the German classic (as a 78 finisher in Germany) and the ascent of Kilimanjaro. The next sporting challenge is definitely waiting for me …
