In the 70s and 80s of the last century, it was still common practice to provide circuit board manufacturers with silver films when placing orders in order to define the layout. In the years that followed, it became more and more common for circuit board manufacturers to plot the required films themselves. The advantages were the simpler and faster transport of a data carrier compared to the dispatch of the often large-area films. Later, data transmission by modem and then by email became more and more popular, which brought about a further acceleration in the placing of orders. In addition, the circuit board manufacturers were able to check the plausibility of the layout data on their CAM workstations before plotting and reproduce the layout for panel production, add their own registration marks, etc. Nowadays almost all circuit board manufacturers have done away with their “photo laboratory” departments. One is dependent on the provision of layout data in electronic form (mostly Gerber data). But what do you do now when it comes to a layout that dates back to the good old days, when you could still order circuit boards using silver film? It was precisely this question that led Annico to be founded in 1998. We scan and digitize your old data for you. Since our foundation, we have now successfully processed more than 9,000 scan jobs.
