People with mental illness often cannot withstand the pressure of the general job market and are therefore not available to them. Emder contract manufacturing (Emlo) offers this group of people jobs in Emden and Leer. “The spectrum ranges from low-qualified employees to academics,” says workshop manager Bernhard Bolinius.
In order to do justice to the different skills and inclinations of the employees, the offer in the production workshops includes a wide range of tasks, for example
simple and complex assembly work in plastic assembly
Electrical installation work with very different level of requirements
Complete assembly of high quality fire protection systems.
Activities on high-tech processing machines
Testing and storage activities
These offers are supplemented by a number of tasks in the administrative, housekeeping and service sectors. According to their individual possibilities, employees are offered external workplaces (outdoor workplaces) in craft and industrial companies as well as in canteen kitchens and administrations in the region. “The operational working conditions and requirements then apply, but the employees receive the necessary guidance and support from the experienced specialist staff at Emlo,” explains the workshop manager. The pressure on the labor market is also cushioned by the fact that all employees continue to have a contract with Emlo.
