The competence area of the SYKO group is power electronics in the mobile area, on land, on water and in the air. In 1973 the sole proprietorship SYKO Reinhard Kalfhaus was founded by Dipl.-Ing. Reinhard Kalfhaus and renamed the SYKO Society for Research and Development GmbH & Co.KG (Administration, Research and Development) in December 2005. In 1988 SYKO Gesellschaft für Leistungselektronik mbH (production and sales) was launched.
The daughters Birgit Tunk and Elke Fliedner each have a 20% share in the association and Ms. Birgit Tunk has taken on responsibility for project management and materials management.
At the moment there are around 80 employees at the Mainhausen site and the annual turnover is around 7.7 million euros. From the beginning, the company’s focus has been on the development and production of power electronics. Know-how advantage and quality help the company to achieve high and healthy growth, and even recessionary economic phases are survived in good health.
After a major fire in autumn 1989 destroyed the old company headquarters to the ground, the current modern office and production building with around 2600 m² of usable space was moved into in July 1990. In December 2004, the expansion of the technology departments (research / development, test field, service) into the latest building extension of 700m² was continued.
Today, SYKO has an extensive range of switching regulators, regenerators, DC / DC converters, system power supplies, power supplies, 1Ph / 3Ph sine wave inverters, inverters, frequency converters and battery chargers for powers up to> 6 KW and supply voltages up to> 5 KV as Standard and customer-specific modules that stand out from the usual market standard due to their performance features.
