In 1946 the company was founded by Werner Schmid. With initially three employees repair services were offered, for example for window fittings and other everyday items. It was also transformed from the beginning: cooking pots were made from steel helmets.

Founded in 1946, the company Werner Schmid GmbH is located in Fulda and produces metal and plastic components with high demands on tolerances and complex geometry. The company is subject to constant growth, which is reflected in an ever-increasing number of employees and in regular investments in manufacturing equipment.

In addition to the three main business areas – ventilation industry, automotive industry and measurement and control technology – the development of new markets is the focus of Werner Schmid GmbH. Internal toolmaking is also offered for the sale of tools in progressive composites. The company’s strengths lie in its high precision, in the production of finished, highly complex parts and in hybrid technology, in which metal components are overmolded with plastics.
