Otis was founded in 1853 by Elisha Graves Otis, making it the most traditional and oldest elevator company. With approximately 68,000 employees worldwide, including 2,500 in Germany, sales of $ 12 billion and products sold in over 200 countries, Otis is the largest of its kind. Otis is part of the globally successful United Technologies Corporation (UTC), based in Farmington / UNITED STATES. Every day, around 2 billion people worldwide are transported by Otis’ 2.6 million elevators, escalators and moving walkways.

The invention of automatic fall protection for elevators by our founder Elisha Graves Otis made skyscrapers and thus the modern cityscape of today possible. The tentative highlight will be the Otis lifts in the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. This pioneering spirit is still alive at Otis today: we are constantly looking for new, innovative ideas that will advance the industry and our customers. Our core business is the maintenance of 1.9 million elevators and escalators for which we are thrilled every day.
