“Connect – Contact – Control”. Under this motto, Schaltbau GmbH develops and manufactures electro-mechanical components for the traffic technology, energy, industrial and industrial trucks markets.
Founded in Munich in 1929, the company has ten locations worldwide and more than 60 distribution partners.
Starting with heating elements for the former Reichsbahn, the portfolio now includes connectors, snap-action switches, contactors and a large number of railway equipment. Schaltbau GmbH develops and manufactures small quantities as well as in series, also customized. The company’s products are used wherever electrical systems need to be reliably connected, switched and monitored under harsh conditions.
From high voltage to the smallest voltage, from the locomotive to the wagons to the roof: everywhere in the train you encounter products from Schaltbau GmbH. Our components are used for the electrical power supply and the control of the drive. They also help the driver to control the train safely. Snap-in switches from Schaltbau GmbH in the doors ensure your safety as soon as you get in. Our drive and toggle switches are used in the control panel of the locomotive. Schaltbau GmbH connectors guarantee reliable energy and data transmission between the traction unit and the car.
Schaltbau GmbH has a quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 and an environmental management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001. Since 2004, the company has been Q1 supplier to Deutsche Bahn. Since October 2008, the German plants Velden and Aldersbach have been certified according to the quality standard IRIS.
