About us
Founded in 1948, TADANO Ltd. Headquartered in Takamatsu, Japan, is an international group of companies specializing in the development and production of hydraulic mobile cranes and hoists. The main production takes place in five locations, three of which are in Japan, one in America and with us, the TADANO FAUN GmbH, one since 1990 in Germany.

As TADANO FAUN GmbH, we represent the competence center of the TADANO Group with regard to the development and production of the TADANO All-Terrain cranes, which are characterized by their good road and off-road capability. All TADANO All-Terrain cranes are developed, produced and then distributed worldwide via our global sales and service network at our plant in Lauf an der Pegnitz near Nuremberg. In addition to all-terrain cranes, we also develop and build truck-mounted cranes on our site, which are mounted on standard truck chassis. Within the TADANO Group, we handle the distribution and service organization for Europe and other selected markets for our rough terrain cranes, which are produced exclusively by our parent company in Japan.

Through the acquisition of FAUN GmbH in 1990 by TADANO Ltd. was a unique symbiosis of high Japanese quality standards and German engineering closed. Proven Japanese methods of quality improvement are being consistently implemented and developed by us, the newly formed TADANO FAUN GmbH, for the construction of all-terrain cranes and truck-mounted cranes. In this way, we can offer our customers above-average reliability mobile cranes and thus meet their high quality requirements. Continuous investment in the expansion of production facilities has enabled us to sustainably increase our product and service quality and to expand our product range step by step.

The turnover of the worldwide TADANO Group in the 2012/2013 financial year amounted to around 1 billion euros. The TADANO Group employs 3,200 people worldwide, including more than 700 at the German location in Lauf an der Pegnitz. With over 86 international sales and service stations and 20 branches, the TADANO Group is one of the major manufacturers in the mobile crane and lifting technology sector. Altogether, TADANO has produced and successfully delivered lifting equipment for more than half a million lifting vehicles in the last decades of its history.
