About us
Magnetic – Access to Progress
Magnetic Autocontrol GmbH is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of barriers and access control systems headquartered in Schopfheim (Southern Black Forest). You will experience our products every day: when entering underground garages or car parks, when accessing public buildings or in public transport and at airports.
history
The name Magnetic has a lot to do with our roots. We started in 1946 in Basel, Switzerland, as a manufacturer of electric and servo motors. Magnets are indispensable components. The Magnetic motors were initially used in sewing machines, washing machines and many other applications, from 1959 also from the production of the German subsidiary in the southern Black Forest. In the mid-1970s, we decided to use our extensive experience in the development of drives and controls not only for components, but for complete systems. That was the birth of our barriers and access control.
International corporate structure
We distribute our barriers and people barriers throughout the world. In addition to our headquarters in Schopfheim, we have a worldwide network of competence and sales with more than 330 employees. The production takes place not only in our German parent plant, but also in a short distance to the customers in our branches in the USA, Australia, Malaysia, India and Brazil. Since 2012, we are part of the Italian FAAC Group and benefit from the structures of this group of companies for automated drives in vehicle and passenger steering.
