Germany’s oldest gold and silver refinery with headquarters in Pforzheim is celebrating its 170th birthday this year. The precious metals expert specializes in the divorce of precious metal-containing materials and recyclables from production processes. As a leading manufacturer of precious metal products, the company offers high-quality materials and semi-finished products for the jewelry, wedding ring, electrical, electronics and dental industries. In the area of electroplating, surface finishing is carried out on almost all metals and for a wide variety of industries. The innovative product areas also include investment products as well as the galvanochemistry and equipment division.
A milestone in the company’s history was the formation of the Heimerle + Meule Group (Heimerle + Meule, Cooksongold, Cookson-CLAL, SEMPSA JP, Drijfhout, Koutadly) in 2013. Today, the group is one of the largest European precious metal processors and employs more than 700 people at sites in seven countries.
Another highlight in 2014 was the certification by the cfsi (conflict-free sourcing initiative). Heimerle + Meule GmbH was the first European company to succeed in being certified directly according to cfsi guidelines as a conflict-free gold miner.
