About us
With over 1,200 employees, Promega is one of the top five global Life Science Research companies. Founded in 1978 in Madison, WI, USA, the independent company manufactures products and system solutions for gene, protein and cell analysis. With these, complex biological systems can be easily explored.

Promega’s customers include research institutes and centers, universities, pharmaceutical and biotechnology research companies, service laboratories and government agencies. They use Promega’s products in basic research, drug discovery, molecular diagnostics, and human genome identification.

Promega products can be purchased from 15 sales outlets and over 50 distributors worldwide, or ordered through the Promega website.

 
Promega is the market leader in three segments:
»STR analytics:
With PowerPlex®, Promega provides genetic fingerprint analysis systems for kinship analysis, forensic database analysis and forensics.

»Bioluminescence:
The GloMax® product range includes everything needed to detect bioluminescence: reagents, devices, and service. The fields of application for the detection of bioluminescence are reporter gene assays, cell viability, apoptosis, cytochrome P450, kinases, proteases and RNA interference.

»Modifying enzymes:
This supplies Promega for research and diagnostics manufacturers in the range of the amplification, molecular cloning, reverse transcription and insurance against RNasen.

Promega GmbH has been present in Mannheim since 1997 as a subsidiary of Promega Corporation, Madison, Wisconsin, USA. With more than 70 employees, it is responsible for the distribution of the Promega Group’s products in Germany, Austria, Poland and Eastern Europe.

In addition to its service center, the Mannheim site also has the European Equipment Service Center and a distribution warehouse of the US parent company, Euro Hub, which is responsible for the distribution of the Promega Group’s products in Europe.

Since 2010, the outsourced Terso GmbH is part of the equipment service center and supplies the European market with RFID consignment warehouses.

The Promega GmbH is ISO 9001: 3008, the Euro Hub ISO 13485: 2003 certified.

Promega promotes the quality of public information through regional media through the annual “Biology” competition for journalists and scientists.
