With 5-axis milling, the product is machined from 5 sides and under all possible angles in one fixture. The advantage of 5-axis milling is that fewer fixtures are required. Every time a product has to be re-tensioned, there is a risk that an inaccuracy will be introduced. Certainly when details have to be made that have tolerances with respect to each other, you want to make them in one set. By controlling the 5 axes simultaneously, free shapes can also be made.

Our latest CNC machines are from 2017 and are fully 5-axis simultaneously controlled with Heidenhain software.

Higher productivity
The advantage of 5-axis machining is higher productivity combined with higher accuracy. The extra axes allow you to use shorter tools and to mill with higher feed. You also improve the surface quality.

Higher accuracy
Because shorter tools can often be used and the power supplies can be accelerated, the precise finishes will lead to a better result.

Smaller error margins
The latest new software allows a 5-axis machine to be programmed using the original drawing that was developed in 3D. The new software options ensure that fewer human errors could be made. This is often used in the production of 3D products that are also drawn in a 3D file.
