About us
The OVE Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering unites companies and institutions as well as experts and interested parties from the entire field of electrical engineering. It promotes the reputation of the entire industry, the development of the profession as well as the progress of technology and science and addresses the current challenges of electrical engineering and information technology.
With its core areas of electrotechnical standardization and certification, the association stands for safety as well as technical advancement and thus also for economic development. With its activities, it supports the economy in the global market and ensures objective and independent compliance with national and international standards and guidelines.
Other focal points of the OVE are lightning detection and documentation as well as internationally recognized lightning research by ALDIS, the Austrian Lightning Detection and Information System.
As part of the OVE Academy, the OVE supports professional development and knowledge exchange among experts, manufacturers and users, and maintains close contact with universities and polytechnics.
With its professional associations, the OVE offers an industry platform and thus promotes active dialogue between science, industry and the interested public. Via the femOVE, the network of experts in the OVE, the association supports the exchange of ideas and information among women working throughout Austria in electrical engineering and related fields. The youngOVE is the network of OVE students, which is committed to promoting young scientists and young people to a career in the dynamic and diverse field of electrical engineering. OVEyoungEngineers sees itself as a link between graduates of a relevant study and a qualified electrician. The platform supports career entrants in their career planning through various activities.
