Mektronics Co. Pty Ltd commenced operations in South Melbourne in October 1984 as the Victorian distributors of Edsyn soldering equipment. This was rapidly supplemented by Hakko and a wide range of tools, service and production aids.

After a period of steady growth, a second office was opened in Adelaide in February 1992 and in 2001 the acquisition of Advanced Materials Technology was completed. Following this, the merge between Seltronics and Mektronics Co. Pty Ltd took place in July 2008 to form Mektronics Australia Pty Ltd – a company servicing a client base all over Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. In 2018, Mektronics moved to a new state of the art facility featuring a 1000sqm warehouse in Seven Hills.

Mektronics is the sole Australian importer of many well known brands such as Chemtronics, Ideal-Tek, Metcal, C.H. Ellis, Tronex, PanaVise, Super Lube, Pace, CK Tools, MG Chemicals, Techspray, Benchvent, Bernstein Treston, ASA, PDR and more.
