About us…
The name Oberländer has been a symbol of robust and reliable scrap processing plants for more than 50 years
For more than 50 years, press shears, baling presses and shredders, designed by Werner Oberländer, have been used in Western Europe and since 1980 in Eastern Europe and countries of the former Soviet Union. To a large extent, they are still in successful operation today and testify to the outstanding production quality and efficiency of the design at that time. Werner Oberländer has now developed a new generation of scrap processing systems based on these years of design experience and using the latest available technologies, which is now on the market.
With the development of the column guide for scrap shears at the end of the 1960s, Mr. Oberländer, at that time still a design manager at “Maschinenfabrik Becker”, set a milestone in the further development of scrap shears. This column guide is now known as one of the most reliable and long lasting guides for scrap shears.
Together with an experienced business partner from the recycling machine sector, ORM Oberländer Recycling Maschinen GmbH, originally based in Hagen, was founded in order to market this new technology, especially in the dynamic market in Eastern Europe and the CIS states.
ORM can build on the extensive knowledge of its founders in this market. In the first phase of the market launch, stationary press shears with capacities of 600, 800, 1100 and 1300 tons as well as stationary “compact shears” with 600 t and mobile scrap shears with a shearing force of 500 – 600 t are offered. Scrap packet crimping machines in various designs complete the ORM product range.
The first upper press shearing generation with 800 tons of shearing force was successfully put into operation in summer 2007 on a recycling plant in Moscow. Of course, with the machine deliveries also the service and the spare part supply are ensured, to which the company ORM service net with partners is available.
With the relocation to Schwerte in 2017 and the expansion of the production and assembly area to two halls with more than 1,100 m² in total 15 employees, the efficiency of the company at home and abroad could be greatly increased.
