Already at the age of 24, Dr. Alfred Hüthig (1900 – 1996) in January 1925 in Heidelberg the same publishing house to life. He created the basis for a successful family business with trade journals and books for technology, trade and industry.

In the 1950s, the magazine “Elektrowelt” and an accompanying book program were used to found what is still an important segment for electrical engineering / electronics. The range of programs has been continually expanded, making Hüthig titles an important source of information in many areas of industry. Since 1999, Hüthig GmbH has been a subsidiary of Süddeutsche Verlag, Munich, a subsidiary of Südwestdeutsche Medienholding, Stuttgart.

In 2012, Hüthig GmbH acquired the shares of Pflaum-Verlag from the joint venture Hüthig & Pflaum Verlag.
In 2015, Hüthig GmbH acquired the Highlight publishing company in Rüthen, which publishes the magazine HIGHLIGHT.
In 2017, Hüthig GmbH acquired a majority shareholding in B & B Publishing GmbH in Mering, which among other things publishes the magazines CE Market and CE Market electro.

Today, Hüthig Verlag has a comprehensive portfolio of specialist journals, online services and other services such as congresses, symposia and awards.
