Our study program
Mechanical engineering is one of the three classical training paths for engineers in addition to electrical engineering and civil engineering and is offered in Germany at about 30 universities and 70 universities of applied sciences ( hochschulkompass.de , as of 2007). The study of mechanical engineering imparts a broad education in natural sciences and engineering, which is geared towards methods and procedures. Through the training of the capacity for abstraction and analytical thinking, the student should acquire the ability to work independently in various areas of responsibility and to master the constantly changing problems in professional practice.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg has been accredited since 2008 with the seal of approval of the German faculty day for mechanical engineering and process engineering .
