Mechanics of passion
The Chair of Engineering Mechanics consists of the Professorship of Continuum Mechanics, the Chair of Structural Mechanics and the Working Group Numerical Mechanics. The professorships and the working group comprise a subfield of technical mechanics, both in teaching and in research. The Engineering Mechanics is a basic engineering subject with strong anchoring and networking in mechanical engineering, which deals generally with the modeling and simulation of technologically relevant materials, processes and systems.
