SE Tylose GmbH & Co. KG
SE Tylose develops, manufactures and sells specialty chemicals. In Wiesbaden about 65,000 tons / year of cellulose ethers are produced. This makes SE Tylose one of the world’s leading suppliers. The water-soluble cellulose ethers are produced from the renewable raw material cellulose (pulp). The cellulose comes from sustainable management of both wood and a by-product of cotton production.

The products and their applications
SE Tylose offers more than 200 different cellulose ether products. The fields of application are very diverse. In the building materials and paint industries, the products under the brand name Tylose® ensure a process-friendly spreadability of ready-mixed mortars, tile adhesives, plasters and fillers. They thicken emulsion paints and allow a uniform and low-spray application of the paint. Tylose is also used as an adjuvant in toothpaste, shampoos and hair conditioners. Furthermore, the plastic production, oil drilling and ceramic applications of Tylose.

High-purity products manufactured using good manufacturing practice (GMP) are used as thickeners under the brand name Tylopur® in the pharmaceutical industry in tablet coating and in the food industry.

Cellulose ethers in Wiesbaden
The production of cellulose ethers at the Wiesbaden location has a long tradition. As early as 1928, the Tylose trademark was registered and in 1935 the first methylcellulose production plant at Kalle went into operation.
