The Starrag GmbH in Chemnitz can look back on more than 100 years of tradition as a manufacturer of milling machines. In 1898, the Chemnitzer began to build high-precision milling machines under the brand name Wanderer. After the Second World War, the work was named after Fritz Heckert, a politician who had championed the rights of the workers. Today, the Heckert plant in Chemnitz is part of the Starrag Group, a leading global supplier of machining centers and technological manufacturing systems. Heckert machines from Chemnitz stand for precision, reliability and technical innovation, above all in the automotive and industrial parts production.
