Atlas Copco was founded in 1873 under the name AB Atlas for the manufacture and sale of all types of materials for the construction and operation of railways.
The history of Atlas Copco in Germany begins on March 21, 1952 as Atlas Diesel GmbH in Essen Kupferdreh. Today, Atlas Copco is present in over 180 countries. In 1956 she renamed Atlas Diesel Atlas Copco. The acronym “Copco” stands for “Compagnie Pneumatique Commerciale”.
Since October 1, 2017 Atlas Copco MCT GmbH operates under the name Atlas Copco Power Technique GmbH. The abbreviation MCT stands for “Mining and Construction Technique”, construction and mining technology. The company, which emerged from the former German sales organization in 1987, has been offering a broader program for the construction industry ever since.
Products
Products and services today include compressed air and compressed gas equipment, construction and mining equipment, industrial tools and assembly systems. They are used in road and surface mining, demolition and recycling, in mining and geotechnical drilling. Since 2007, the Dynapac brand has been part of the Atlas Copco Group, complementing our product portfolio with its concrete and soil compaction machinery and equipment. In 2017, the Road Construction Equipment division (Dynapac) was sold to the Fayat Group. In 2018, the product divisions “lightweight compaction technology” and “concrete technology” were sold to the Husqvarna Group.
