1. The company:
Stürmann GmbH & Co. KG is a German company that has been active in the fields of window and window fitting technology for more than 100 years and has been active in the fields of smoke vent systems and automatic doors since the beginning of the 1960s. In the new millennium, the products fire protection curtains (smoke and fire protection curtains) and lift shaft smoke extraction have been added to the company portfolio.
The first founding of today’s company goes back to the year 1888, when the carpenter and inventor Karl Stürmann began to equip his windows with self-developed and -made hardware systems.
Due to economic constraints, the window fitting company Stürmann & Co. changed hands in 1951 to the shareholders Walter Altgelt, Kurt Haver and Hans Wollschläger.
After the departure of the longtime managing director Werner Altgelt (1981-2010), Jörg Wegmann continues the tradition of the family-run company as the sole managing director since 01.01.2011.
Over the years, more than 17,000 objects were equipped with Stürmann systems throughout Germany and in other European countries with experienced, long-standing employees. These are both representative large buildings and many smaller objects. Constant innovations have made Stürmann a provider that constantly offers new possibilities for object-related solutions beyond standard applications.
