Institute conducts investigations in such scientific directions:
• geochemistry of processes of ore and rock formation, exploration geochemistry and geochemistry of environment;
• regional and genetic mineralogy, physics of minerals, nanomineralogy;
• petrology of endogenous processes;
• geology, metallogeny and prediction of mineral deposits of Ukraine.
The institute has created the Center of collective use of devices “Mass spectrometric center of solid-phase, gas isotopic and microelement analysis”.
