About us
WINTER Maschinenbau was founded immediately after the end of World War II in 1945 by Dipl.-Ing. Wilhelm Winter († 12.05.1989) initially founded as an engineering office.
In 1946, a production facility was set up at the Ratingen location.
In the beginning, oil mills, beet presses and sewage pumps were produced.
A short time later, the product range of WINTER Maschinenbau mainly comprised valves, plunger pumps and water-hydraulically operated presses.
In 1964 Jost Winter (Dipl.-Ing.), The son of the founder Wilhelm Winter, joined the company. In 1973 he took over the sole management. During this period, the product range was supplemented by the design and manufacture of hydro test presses for spiral welded large pipes, test benches for high pressure water valves and special machines for the mining industry.
In the sixties, the precision engineering started with the development and production of antenna rotors with the corresponding positioning controls, which today form an important part of the production program of WINTER Maschinenbau. The long-standing customer base in this area includes the European Telecommunications Central Offices (FTZ, PTT, …), regulatory authorities as well as governmental services (Bundeswehr and NATO) as well as companies from the fields of information and communication technology.
Since the beginning of the seventies, WINTER Maschinenbau has specialized in the export of machines and equipment such as reels, straightening machines, shears, feeders, longitudinal and transverse cutting shears and convector presses specially developed for the production of radiators.
The program is supplemented by hydraulic drives for waste incineration plants and afterburning grates for coal-fired power plants, strip galvanizing plants, hydraulic presses and special test stands. In addition, WINTER Maschinenbau develops and manufactures customized special solutions such as wet cutting machines, extinguishing water units and low-temperature recycling units for halon-containing extinguishing units.
In the years 1994 and 2000, the sons of Jost Winter, Stefan Winter (Dipl.-Ing.) And Thomas Winter (Dipl.-Kfm.) Joined the company and today, together with Jost Winter, are managing directors of the company. Almost 75% of the turnover is realized outside Germany.
