About us
DURRER Spezialmaschinen AG is a family business with 50 employees. The company is now run in the second generation.

The founder of the company, Franz Durrer, started in 1949 with the construction of special machines. Customers included Swissair, Roll, Thermoplan and Calendaria. In special machine construction, the company has grown continuously. Thanks to the close collaboration with the Calendaria in Immensee and other graphic arts companies (such as Biella), DURRER established itself in print finishing at the end of the sixties.

DURRER’s expertise lies in the combination of moving mechanics, drive technology, control engineering and software development. This know-how is now used in various fields of work. DURRER distinguishes between two business areas:

DGM – “DURRER Grafische Maschinen” develops and builds machines for international print finishing

DIP – “DURRER Integrale Produktion” implements the projects of customers from various industries from the first idea to realization

DURRER is the market leader in the field of handle register processing. DURRER manufactures machines that punch, print and varnish registers. Products such as agendas, operating instructions and catalogs thus gain practical added value. In addition to handle register processing, DURRER also invents and builds sophisticated machines for wall calendar finishing or binding technology.

While machines are marketed under their own names in the graphics area, integral production is developed and produced together with the customer. The customer can either purchase the entire technical service or only parts of it. There are customers who only commission engineering or production work, as well as customers who purchase the entire service package from planning to series production.
