About us
Founded in 1880, Effertz is now family-owned and family-run in its fifth generation. We already made a name for ourselves at the beginning of the 20th century, especially with large roller shutters. In the 1960s, we were the first company to introduce fire protection roller doors to the German market.
Reference objects are, for example, the airports of Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich, the Schalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen, ICC and Schaubühne Berlin (hereby we came in 1980 in the Guinness Book of Records), the KölnArena, the Hotel Adlon in Berlin, The Squaire in Frankfurt / Main and as a special project, the fire protection / smoke protection closures for the Eurotunnel shuttle waggons delivered at the beginning of the 1990s.
In 2001 we were the first manufacturer in Germany to pass the exam
DIN EN 1634-1 for a self-contained glass fabric fire protection curtain.
In 2013, we were the first to receive general building inspectorate approval for an insulated fire curtain.
In 2007, we were the first company in the world to pass the fire test for an A60 roll-up door in accordance with the standards of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) for ships and offshore applications. These gates were first used on the world’s largest cruise liners, the Oasis of the Seas and the Allure of the Seas.
Our corporate policy is geared towards delivering the highest quality and safety to our customers. In addition to the absolute adherence to deadlines and the constant shortening of our delivery times, we see this quality as the essential basis of our good reputation far beyond the borders of Germany and the high level of satisfaction of our customers.
Effertz is active throughout Europe and beyond. Up to 40% of production is exported.
