NUKEM Technologies GmbH and its subsidiary NUKEM Technologies Engineering Services GmbH operate worldwide in the fields of radioactive waste management, spent fuel management, decommissioning of nuclear facilities, engineering and consulting. Geographical priorities are the markets in Western and Eastern Europe, South Africa and Asia.

The roots of the companies go back to NUKEM GmbH, founded in 1960, which was one of the first nuclear companies in Germany to produce fuel assemblies for different reactor types. As a logical development of these business activities, nuclear engineering and plant engineering were developed as new business fields in the 1970s. NUKEM Technologies was spun off from NUKEM GmbH in 2006 and can look back on more than 50 years of experience in engineering activities. Since 1 January 2009 NUKEM Technologies is a subsidiary of JSC Atomstroyexport. JSC Atomstroyexport is one of the world’s leading companies in the construction of nuclear power plants and is part of the Russian nuclear holding Rosatom.

 NUKEM Technologies Engineering Services GmbH was founded as a 100% subsidiary of the former engineering service division of NUKEM Technologies GmbH. This company will process the classic design and delivery orders in the future. The parent company NUKEM Technologies GmbH focuses on turn-key contracts and similar projects. This reorganization serves primarily to optimize internal processes. Both companies work very closely together. This is shown by the sharing of the same logo and certifications.
